SFF Merlin the Magician

SFF Merlin the Magician (PV, D) (59,166) came to Iowa from Vermont in the spring of 2023 as a cooperative co-ownership between Quarter Section Run and Mud Ridge Ranch (Red Oak, Iowa) to bring new and excellent genetics to the midwest. He sports family members from notable farms such as Star Lake, Trafalgar, EZ Acres, and Australian farms of Bairnsley and Cruachan. He came to us halter trained and very motivated to do his work. Merlin has produced a greater than 50% ratio of heifers (it seems, no hard numbers for you). Unfortunately, Merlin was simply too large for our folds to the extent some of our moderate females struggled to stand under his weight. 

 

Merlin sold to Michigan to be a herd sire for a beef producer but not before we collected his semen. We were afraid of sellers remorse. His current owner has said he has the best temperament of any bull he has owned.​
